Ok, so I’m finally going to take the plunge and I’m going to hit up a festival in a foreign land and of course my first port of call is going to be Benacasim. The line-up has not been announced yet but I am already going to take the plunge and do it. It’s going to be amazing, I really can’t wait.
We are going to get the plane over to Madrid first and see some sights whilst crashing in a motel then we are going to buy a car from Auto Mobile and set forth to conquer Spain and reach the festival. I’m so excited, my last great adventure before Graduation and the working world.

Like many graduates that have finished university this past year, I have struggled to find a job straight away, a problem which seems to be norm in those of us trying to break into journalism. Instead I have been forced to rely upon loose bits of freelance and unpayed internships. Something which is the harsh realities of my chosen field and unfortunately unavoidable.
But where, some of my fellow students are finding no trouble in grinning and bearing this situation I am of a different ilk. Not having parents funds to fall back upon I am having to fend myself and I’ll be the first to admit that money is indeed tight at the moment. Much so that I have recently take out a Wonga loan, which I hope to pay back as soon as I find myself back in full time work. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

So Christmas? Great wasn’t it. Full of good food and presents that (you probably didn’t really want) and lots and lots of spending. Woop.
Yes, that’s right, as the old adage goes, no good deed goes unpunished and now for all of our good will we are all well and truly in the red and probably won’t be seeing the black for quite some time. Buggerlugs. Such lack of funds is obviously very detrimental indeed for someone like me who manages a blog that primarily dwells on such things like music, gigs and travel. All very very pricely habits. Which is why I have developed a plan. My plan is called cut down on spending and it begins with a quick peruse of broadband comparison to change my provider and cut down the bills before then trawling through all of my old (though obviously awesome stuff) and wacking it on ebay. Hopefully I hope to see funds double in no time at all. Fingers firmly crossed. Failing that, 2011 is going to see a genuinely boring output from this trendsetting corner of the web.
Here’s to a great and hopefully fortuitous new year guys.

If like my year are already planning next years festival choices right now before you have to shell out all of your hard earned cash, then why not consider the Fete de la Musique festival in Paris next June. Like the Notting Hill Carnival only bigger better and less prone to riots, the festival is a free celebration of culture and music and is a different taste of the summer festivities from the usual Glastonbury, Reading or Benacassim.

Not quite holding up the mainstream like other festivals it is a breath of fresh air and a good opportunity to catch some different kinds of talents, plus it also doubles up as a holiday.

I have just moved to London and living is so expensive. Food, rent and bills all mount up and at the moment I am not exactly on the best wage.
However, when I do need to buy need items it is sometimes best to go online. I have bought second hand furniture, clothes and I even managed to find a secondhand bicycle for sale, which will save me money getting to work.
Hopefully in a few years time I will be able to afford loads of new clothes and things I probably won't even need! But until then, second hand is the option and if you look hard enough you can find some really good deals!
